WOOD PELLET HEATING

Wood is a regional and sustainably available raw material that can be used comfortably and economically. Short transportation distances benefit the overall energy balance; the added value stays in the region.

Wood is a CO2-neutral energy source, which means that it only sets the same amount of carbon dioxide free that the tree stored while growing. Over the past years, wood stoves and heaters have made enormous technological advances. The following systems can be distinguished:

  • Wood pellet furnaces
  • Wood chip furnaces
  • Log furnaces

Log furnaces are exclusively fueled manually and one batch at a time, wood pellet and wood chip furnaces usually operate with automated fuel feed.

While wood pellet and log furnaces are normally installed in residential buildings, wood chip furnaces are more attractive for large-scale heat consumers.
