WOODCHIPS DRYING

Woodchips are made from waste and weak wood with the help of a chipper. They are roughly 3-8cm large.

A preferably uniform size and low moisture content are the requirements for an unproblematic use of woodchips in heating systems.

For example, woodchips with a moisture content of 50% have a heating value of approx. 2,2 kWh/kg, while woodchips with a moisture content of 10% already have a heating value of 4,5 kWh/kg.

The heating value and the pecuniary worth of woodchips are dependent on the moisture content. Our drying systems (belt, floor, and container drying) provide the following advantages:

  • better characteristics than fuel, due to higher energy content
  • lower transport costs due to lower weight
